Uruguay’s Interior Minister Jorge Larrañaga informed local media that his office has canceled three purchases for the National Police, due the economic and financial situation. as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cancelled programs include:
· Acquisition of 1,000 Russian PB-4 OSA four-shot pistols
· Purchase of 150 Chinese assault rifles – made by Norinco – model CQ type A, a copy of the North American M4A1
· Order for six Chinese armored Chery trucks, model Tiggo, worth $ 201,000 was also canceled
